Top 10: Best Luxury Hotels in Bali
My home for 4 years, Bali boasts some of the best hotels in the world and will soon see the arrival of highly anticipated properties like Como’s Uma Canggo, Alila’s The Cliff and Shangri-la’s Nusa Dua Resort & Spa. With too many luxurious hotels to put in one post, here are just a few of my favourites…
Alila Villas Uluwatu
Perched on limestone cliffs 100 metres above the Indian Ocean, Alila Villas Uluwatu is one of the most visually-striking hotels in the world. The minimalist, eco-friendly designed villas are equally stunning, each with their own private pool, cabana and butler.
Amankila, Manggis
Inspired by the nearby Karangasem palaces, Amankila’s three-tiered infinity pool overlooks the Lombok Strait on the unspoilt east coast of Bali. Surrounded by lush vegetation, the suites seem to float among the treetops against the dramatic backdrop of Mount Agung.
Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort
Set on Bali’s secluded southern coast, Anantara Uluwatu offers stunning ocean views in a setting of rugged natural beauty. One of its key features is its beach elevator that whisks you down the cliff to the surfer’s paradise known as Impossible Beach.
Ayana Resort and Spa
Poised on the edge of paradise overlooking Jimbaran Bay’s exclusive sunset coast, Ayana is a cliff-top coastal oasis with award-winning cocktail and dining venues. My favorite feature in this hotel? The stunning Rock Bar perched on a rock 14 metres above the Indian Ocean.
Bvlgari Resort Bali, Uluwatu
Another cliff top stunner is Bvlgari Resort Bali which combines the breathtaking beauty of Bali with contemporary Italian style. Accommodation is in the form of spacious villas and mansions oozing elegance and luxury. Now when can we move in...?
Como Shambhala Estate, Ubud
If you are looking for a holistic health retreat in the heart of spiritual Bali then look no further than Como Shambhala Estate, Bali. The resort offers an immersive, 360-degree well-being experience in a lush jungle location. A home away from home in Ubud!
Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan, Ubud
As far as arrival experiences go, the walk across the sky-bridge entranceway to Four Seasons Sayan is up there with the best. Tucked into the hillside with the Agung River bubbling below, the resort is a serene paradise for those wishing to connect with nature and the spirit of Bali.
Hanging Gardens of Bali
At the geographical centre and spiritual core of the resort, the swimming pool at Hanging Gardens of Bali is without a doubt one of the most photographed pools in the world. Surrounded by rainforests and rice terraces, the 44 thatched-roof villas are in complete harmony with nature.
Mandapa, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve
Mandapa, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Ubud captures the magic of Bali and the serenity of seclusion so if you are looking to let go then this is it! Not to be missed? A dinner at Kubu with Chef Maurizio.
The St. Regis Bali, Nusa Dua
The island’s ultimate beach front resort, The St. Regis Bali, offers an exclusive spot to relax on pristine sand, in a swimmable saltwater lagoon or in your own private pool. Their best feature? The amazing Remede Spa for the best Balinese massages!
