Stepping off Wilshire Boulevard into the bright and airy lobby of the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, the signature Diptyque scent immediately sets the tone for this stunning hotel.

The Lalique crystal designed bar in the Lobby Lounge is a great spot to hang out at any time of day and just a few steps away is the famous Jean-Georges restaurant & bar with outdoor patio.

Heading up to the 170 guest rooms, of which 51 are suites, designer Pierre-Yves Rochon has combined warm white stone, rich wood and subtle tones. Each over-sized room boasts floor to ceiling windows, a private terrace and picture-perfect views.

My personal favorite is the Beverly Hills Suite with cityscape and sunset views from its private circular terrace. This room also connects to adjacent rooms to make a 2-bedroom or 3-bedroom suite.

The top floor of the hotel is home to The Rooftop by J&G, which offers open-air dining for lunch and dinner, as well as a heated, guest-only pool.

A La Prairie Spa, well-equipped health club and Joseph Martin hair salon can be found on the lower floors.

Most memorable feature: the use of natural light to create welcoming, bright, open spaces throughout the hotel.

Best use of technology: the addition of ‘Alexa’ in the bedrooms allowing guests to request hotel services with a simple voice command.
